Rasheed - I like your philosophy, I think managing ourselves is the hardest part ;) Thanks for sharing the link! I'm checking it out now!

Hi John! This is a great perspective -- part of the process is getting through the challenges and having a sense of accomplishment. I think that is easily forgotten in our fast-paced society. You're right, when we immediately get what we want without working for it, it is hollow and we don't have the same sense of reward. Well put!

Faster is definitely not better.

Satisfaction from almost any activity is dependent on the effort expended NOT the end result.

You can drive around a marathon course and then get out to cross the finish line but you won't have the feeling of accomplishment that only comes from legitimately running the entire race.

If a helicopter could drop you on the top of Mount Everest you could say you made it to the top of the world. However, you wouldn't have the same satisfaction as someone who actually hiked all the way up.

Happiness and personal satisfaction come from the journey not the destination. The more difficult the process, the greater the rewards.

All challenging processes are slow. Quick and easy results make us behave like spoiled children, always wanting more.

My philosophy on time management is simple. You don't manage time, you manage yourself to spend your time more effectively, not necessarily more efficiently.

Here is my fav link to slow. http://lazyway.blogs.com/
