Rasheed- Great point!!I think we are far less likely to quit if we are creating something in our business! At the same time, it is easy to get distracted by doing the "latest trend" or big new idea. One of the things I try to do for myself (and to remind my clients of) is to be a finisher.

It is far easier to start a new project then it is to finish an old project.

Entrepreneurs, by nature, are starters, not finishers. If we can learn to do both, we can become quite successful!

Lauren- Thanks for writing and subscribing! I like your point about feeling like something or someone is wasting your time. I've spent a lot of time pissed off because I felt like other people were controlling (and wasting) my time. But, I now see that I've always been in such a hurry to figure everything out. Part of what I'm trying to do now is have more patience, let things unfold, and get better with things over time. I'm trying not to rush into everything and be an instant expert like before. That way of living is hard, irritating, and frustrating for me... so now I'll try something else :0)

The Dame- Thanks for writing, I'm excited to see the new site as you get it going! I'll be here and would love to meet up, I'm in Ao Nang, Krabi--let me know when you'll come through!

Brooke, I am a new subscriber to your blog as of yesterday. As Rasheed above me said, I can soooooo relate to the above as well. I can't stand authority..and I am guilty as charged at getting ticked off and quitting when something frustrated me at work or I think that I'm wasting my time.

I guess we all resent our parents in different ways. Is there anyone with a perfect childhood? So, I guess we all just have to push on, try to learn from it, and make sure we don't make the same mistakes towards the people in our lives that we love.

Anyway, great post. I look forward to reading more! Keep up the hard work and entrepreneurial actions! :)

Once something “went wrong” or someone pissed me off, I would quit. And then it was over. I think because I liked the ‘re-creating my life’ part, I saw the next thing as a new adventure,

I can soooooooo relate to the above. When you work for yourself, you can't quit and start to "re-create" unless you take care of the under lying issues.

I like the idea of asking "Why?" when you find yourself resisting something. Thanks for the idea. I need to ask myself, why I resist building a business that I want, one that will free up my time by being self-sustaining.

Keep up the good work, and hang in there. Life has a way of working itself out. :)
