@Karol - Being afraid of anything makes us hesitate. I think over-thinking might just be the number one cause for procrastination! It would be amazing to see what would happen in our lives if we just weren't afraid of anything.

@Prime - If you are an Idea Person, sometimes it takes a bit of time for things to settle in your head. Good to know you have a tactic that works. I think I get my best results when I'm relaxed!!

"Stop Spinning & Get Centered

I do this often. I will stop what I’m doing in the midst of a project and go lie down. I’m not napping, I am taking a moment to settle my thoughts and get centered." - yup i do that often too. when im writing tons of stories and had to beat a deadline, i take some time off just to clear my head. sometimes you just need to be "unproductive" to be more productive.

Getting out of our heads is also a great way for us to conquer any fears. For example, when a guy is "afraid" to approach a beautiful girl it's just because he's overthinking it. You mentioned "don't hesitate." That's key. :) After all, what's the worst that can happen?

@John - Yes! I'm super guilty of getting stuck in my head... and then nothing happens! I think if we can begin to find balance in our days, we can reduce some of our stressful thoughts.

@Nate - Ya, breathing comes in handy ;-) My mom used to tell me "Brooke You Aren't Breathing" when I was upset. Used to make me crazy, but now I know what she means. It takes a bit of training to build in our breaks but I have found that otherwise, if we don't, we'll have breakdowns!

All great tips. My favorite is breathing, I love breathing! Well, who doesn't?

Also, I like how you talk about walking away from the technology. Every once in a while I'll take a couple days and not even go on the computer, it really is refreshing.

Great post Brooke!

I like that expression,

"Get Out of Your Head and Into Your Body"

This is so true. That old adage of Healthy Body, Healthy Mind is absolutely correct. Humans are not designed to sit behind a computer for 8 hours.
