Love your concept! You have just been added to my favorites, and I'll be keeping an eye on the site.

I am a travelholic. I only feel fully alive when I am adventuring around the globe. More accurately, I love LIVING abroad, not moving around constantly. You can't get to know people and make great friendships if you are always on the move. If you don't spend at least a couple months in one locale, you're a tourist. Not that that is bad, but it is something completely different.

My favorite location is Odessa, Ukraine. It is an edgy mix of Europe, Russia and third-worldliness. Awesome dance clubs in the summer. But best of all - no rules!!! Pure Freedom! The government does absolutely nothing to protect people from themselves, or others. I lived there for two years and was fortunate enough to find work in business consulting. Awesome experience...

As an entrepreneur, working in clean transportation technologies, I was able to find really great people to help me with my R&D, at a price I could actually afford. I expect to be back there working full-time on my technologies within the next couple years. Ukraine offers the advantages of working from India or China, while being much more pleasant to live and super easy to hop into any place in Europe in a half-day.

My second favorite location is Palma (Mallorca) Spain. I lived there for a year. I don't think anyone does a better job of enjoying daily life than the Spaniards. Mix in vacationing northern Europeans during the summer, warm beaches, super-slow pace of life and relaxing restaurants, and you have the definition of summer holiday. It is the anti-California.

All I need now is a way to pack my two 30" monitors into a suitcase that could survive travel. I am sooooo FN spoiled!!!

Hopefully your site will take off. I think it would be great to have a social network for all of us global adventurists that want/need to work abroad. I would love to read about other people's stories.

Best of luck

Congratulations, Brooke, on getting this site off the ground! I couldn't be prouder of you! YES YES YES - all of those ideas in "Is this you?" describe me perfectly! So here's a HUGE "Thank you" for doing this - for putting these ideas out there so the rest of us who absolutely feel the same way don't have to feel like we are all alone! We no longer have to feel weird when we think that our friend's house they just bought is a burden, and I'm actually quite happy that my most prized possession is my passport! (Well, and my cameras of course!)
